Wine cellars
There is a great number of vineyards and every year we encounter a new one.
The red wines of the region feature the Dolcetto, the Barbera and the Nebbiolo. If the grapes grow in a strictly defined area, the resulting wine is called Barbaresco. The same is true for the Barolo.
The white wines are dominated by Chardonnay. But there is also the endemic Arneis.
Almost all vinters also produce Moscato and Grappa.
Italians of this area typically have a glass of vine during lunch and dinner. In pizzerias and the restaurants of the larger cities beer is available, too.
Again, our rating is subjective. Our advice is to go out and find your favorite wine by trying out the great variety that is available in this region.
Many times we found an interesting wine in a restaurant and later visited the vineyard ourselves.
