Restaurants

There are many beautiful family-run restaurants in the area. All of them are committed to the traditional kitchen of Piedmont.

A real menu in Piedmont starts with 5 to 8 small appetizers – all of them vary from restaurant to restaurant as they express their respective distinctiveness. Until the first appetizer is brought to the table, you can enjoy an Italian specialty: Grissini are an invention of a royal baker, who made them for an Italian prince that refused to eat normal bread.

The first course mostly consists of diverse pasta varieties, but also delicious rice dishes. Europe’s largest area of rice production, the Po valley, is not far from Piedmont.

The second course is often a meat or fish dish served with an aside. It is common to have some fresh bread to go with it.

The dessert can be either cheese or something sweet. In the latter case a Moscate would be taken with the dessert.

Dinner can take several hours in Italy. Because of the rich Italian food a Grappa (liqor made from the Moscato grape) is sometimes necessary. With fish dishes a Limoncello (citrus liqueur) is commonly enjoyed.

Please pay attention to the laws against driving under the influence. In a worst case scenario, the car could be taken away without compensation.
